About the role and what you'll do
The Financial Controller leads the Finance Department, overseeing financial operations, controls, reporting, planning, and compliance. Working closely with Finance, Operations, and Group stakeholders, you will provide financial insight, support informed decision-making, and ensure effective management of the site's financial performance.
· Lead and manage the Finance Department, ensuring effective financial processes, controls, systems, and reporting in line with Group policies and accounting standards
· Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing, payments, collections, and compliance
· Maintain ownership of the General Ledger and ensure accurate and efficient accounting processes
· Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts, analyse variances against plan, and identify actions to support business cash flow requirements
· Ensure statutory, regulatory, and tax filings are completed accurately and within required deadlines
· Manage intercompany accounting and act as the primary liaison with local banking partners, overseeing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
· Partner with operational management as a strategic finance business partner, providing KPI dashboards, financial analysis, and insights to support performance and decision-making
· Prepare labour and material variance analyses, identify key cost drivers, and collaborate with managers on improvement initiatives
· Support budgets and forecasts, analysing labour and machine resource requirements, cost structures, and financial variances against plan
· Conduct cost centre and job close-out reviews to identify performance trends, costing improvements, and operational efficiencies
· Manage inventory controls, including identification and appropriate provisioning of slow-moving and obsolete inventory
· Prepare budget, forecast, and variance analysis reports for Head Office in line with Group reporting requirements
· Support financial governance, controls, process improvements, and the effective operation of the Finance Department
· Promote a collaborative team environment and build effective working relationships across functions and locations
· Ensure full compliance with TOPPAN policies, procedures, standards, ethics, and the Code of Business Principles
About you
Experience and knowledge
· Fully qualified accountant (MIA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
· Proven background in financial control, accounting, or financial management, including responsibility for Finance teams and oversight of AP, AR, payroll, and General Ledger activities
· Strong knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, tax compliance, financial controls, statutory and regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and financial governance
· Sound understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, cost control, variance analysis, and performance management
· Manufacturing background is an advantage, with knowledge of inventory, cost centres, labour and material costs, and expenditure reviews considered desirable
· Strong ability to work with internal and external stakeholders and provide effective financial support to the wider business
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications and financial systems considered an advantage
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to organise and analyse large volumes of information, identify issues, and manage multiple priorities effectively
· Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop Finance team members
· Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
