ABOUT THE ROLE

JOB SUMMARY

Under the close supervision of the Security Manager, the security guard protects the Institution premises and property from theft, damage and vandalism.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Control and monitor access points by verifying visitor credentials, checking identification, and issuing guest pass.

• Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity in real time, ensure all incidents are properly recorded in the incident logbook, preserve and report CCTV footage when required.

• Access Control Documentation & Reporting

• Checks that the company's employees do not bring unauthorized items and property into and out of the Company.

• Controls that guests do not bring unauthorized items and property into and out of the Company.

• Protect personnel, property, and assets from potential threats including theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.

• At the main entrance gate, he/she asks for the identification of foreign guests and employees of the company; he/she verifies their identity.

• Ensure that vehicles entering and leaving the company are licensed and that they are not carrying unauthorized items.

• Opens doors for vehicles; ensures that they are parked in their assigned areas;

• Ensure that office lights are turned off after working hours; doors and windows are locked and water taps are turned off.

• Inform the company’s managers about the situation when an accident occurs in the company; requests the assistance of the police and defense forces in a timely manner.

• Handles the equipment given for protection with care and attention; uses it only for the company’s work; takes the necessary precautions to ensure that it does not fall into the hands of unauthorized people.

• Upon completion of the guard shift, he/she properly hands over the assets under protection and the guard area to the successor.

• In the event of a fire in the company, he/she tries to extinguish it using fire extinguishers; if he/she is unable to do so, he/she requests the assistance of the fire brigade; the police and other government agencies.

• He/she performs his/her daily duties in accordance with the rules and regulations of occupational safety.

• He/she informs the supervisor of any activities that pose a safety risk within the territory of the organization.

• The security personnel shall ensure strict compliance with all access control, monitoring, and reporting procedures to maintain a safe and secure working environment.

• To perform other similar duties.
  

ABOUT YOU
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A) EDUCATION/TRAINING

• Completed 10th grade, basic military training.

• Can provide Release Letters from military institutions.

• Diploma in security management will have an advantage.

• Position is open to Ethiopian Nationals Only.

B) EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of work experience in a related field

C) TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

• CCTV Monitoring

• Prepare reporting and sharing

• Good physical fitness.

• AGE limit – Not more than 45years of Age

• Ability to follow and order the instruction, verbal or written.

• Knowledge of security systems and emergency procedures, customer care.

• May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
