ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Bid Manager, you will be accountable for managing the bid process, bid production, and stakeholders as required to prepare high quality, winning bids to support sales strategies and growth plans. You will be the single owner of the bid from the kickoff to handover to deliver and manage the plan to mobilise, produce and approve the bid through the sales lifecycle. You will act as the project manager for the bid phase, actively managing risks, ensuring resources are contributing as required, and running a realistic and achievable plan.
Main missions:
Manage bids of all types including proposals, multiyear, multi-level (pre-qualification, request for proposals, invitations to tenders/bid) and high-profile strategic bids, through the sales lifecycle to on-time approval and submission.
Mobilise and manage the virtual team and input from all stakeholders contributing to the bid including sales, technical, delivery, commercial, legal and supply chain.
Arrange and chair all bid meetings including the reviews and other bid meetings according to the bid process, and record and share minutes, actions, and other outputs.
Define a winning bid strategy based on sales and pre-sales input using storyboarding, win themes and price targets.
Produce compliant, written proposals and supporting materials by creating content, sourcing content from within the extended team, or adapting existing collateral.
Capture all costs and present them correctly in cost and pricing models, engaging commercial and finance specialists for more complex deals as necessary.
Arrange post bid reviews including, lessons learnt, no bid, losses and wins, communicate key findings and recommend improvements.
Store and maintain documentation in the correct repository for use within the team.
Manage all bid registration and submission processes as required by the customer process including notarization, submission of company financial and legal information, customer references and sample materials.
Hand over comprehensive and accurate information to the project team ensuring they are fully informed of the bid, including any outstanding items that require mitigation
Maintain accurate and timely records of activities and provide management and status reporting as required.
Contribute towards the continuous improvement of the bid process and the tools used.
Ensure that bids are produced in full compliance with company guidelines and policies.
ABOUT YOU
You are/have:
Bachelor’s degree or above in IT, engineering, or a related discipline.
Bid or project management qualification such as APMP Foundation level or similar is desirable
Proven experience in IT or engineering bid, particularly in managing and ensuring compliance with detailed technical specifications.
Proven experience with international bid management and proposal development
Experience of financial modelling
Experience working with distributed project teams
Skills:
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple bids in parallel
Excellent customer focus, attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to communicate at all levels including executive level and build relationships
Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment
Excellent written English
Proficiency in multiple languages is preferred.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of key business financial concepts
Strong IT skills, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
