ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality and Continuous Improvement manager will be responsible for managing the quality Team of Toppan Security facility in Addis Ababa. He/ She is responsible for implementing the quality systems and control plans as per the certification bodies and ensuring the products and solutions satisfy objectives in term of functionalities and productivity.
Responsibilities:
Quality Management System:
- Create, and maintain Toppan Security Addis Ababa QMS, aligned with required standards.
- Ensure factory production and operational documentation are in place and followed, such as, KPIs, procedures, work instructions, forms, checklists etc.
- Update the requirements whenever the standard is revised and ensure updates are cascaded, applied with, including if relevant, staff training.
- Revise the standards and procedure as per the policy.
- Schedule Internal Audit and conduct as per the checklist.
- Plan for ISO audits and renew the certificates before they expire.
Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC):
• Oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing (LAB) for the factory products and/or development processes.
•Collaborate with Process Engineering to define, implement and Maintain control plans according to CTQ and CTP characteristics.
•Define, implement or adapt control plans to process and product maturity, in order to secure the transition between qualification, industrialization and mass production phases. Maintain and adjust sampling vs systematically controls according to risk assessment.
•Create, modify, update, and implement the quality control plans for the incoming inspection, production line approvals and online checking, and outgoing inspections of the products manufactured.
•verify and approve of the quality checklist and forms.
•Manage Quality Claims (Customer or Supplier) and insuring adherence to complaints company KPIs. Ensure proper analysis, reporting and tracking of Containment/corrective/preventive actions
•Gather, consolidate and analyze defect rate and typology, define, monitor related action plans.
•Report on Monthly basis.
•Issue INCR/CAPA letter to Production team in case of finding non-conformities in production against procedures and policies.
•Review the effectiveness of CAPA every quarter.
•Consolidate KPIs and provide monthly report with analysis and action plan status
•Trains and motivate employees to ensure that quality standards are met.
Continuous Improvement:
•Liaise with Operations leads to identify and support productivity, production stability or efficiency initiatives.
•Proactively promote Lean Manufacturing basics implementation and animation.
•Consolidate Continuous Improvement KPIs – actions, gains and report on monthly basis achievements bs objectives
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in manufacturing/operations or related field
•Min of 5 years of experience in a Quality, Continuous Improvement or Production role, preferably in in technology, automotive, printing or security industry
•ISO 9001 certification process and its documentation, Knowledge on ISO 14001 is a plus
•Professional certification in ISO & QMS is a plus.
•MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel. Fluent in basic data presentation and manipulation (Pareto, Trend/analysis graphs, Pivot table…)
