ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of TOPPAN Security team, the Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations, Malta.
The role oversees the Operations Team providing tactical and strategic direction to ensure customer requirements are understood and met whilst reaching set goals and objectives. You will have to maintain a professional approach while supporting and coordinating activities of various departments. You will have the responsibility for the operations team to ensure the company’s safety, quality, and cost objectives are met.
Main missions:
- Form part of the Malta site Senior Leadership Team.
- Lead a team of Front Line Managers and employees
- Ensure that all Managers understand how their work relates to the organization meeting the customers’ expectations and drives our business objectives.
- Interact and collaborate daily with other local and Global functional groups to ensure we understand existing and emerging customer needs and drive teams to identify operational improvements in those areas. Collaborate with other sites to share best practices, leverage resources/assets, etc.
- Prepare and oversee budgets for assigned operational areas.
- Monitor and improve safety incident rates. Ensure each employee understands his individual role and responsibilities required to achieve and maintain a safe work place. Proactively identify and correct unsafe conditions, work processes, and behaviors.
- Participate in establishing local procedures aligned with global policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, trade and government agencies and company policies and procedures.
- Execute a process to track and record values delivered to the customer. Utilise metrics to monitor and maximize customer efficiencies and achieve cost savings.
- Conduct staff meetings, and other meetings as needed.

- Strong interest in Operations activities.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with good attention to details.

Education and/or Experience
- Previous 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing.
- Typically, 3-5 years’ management experience.
- Experience in working in multi-cultural teams.
- Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
