About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller with strong hands-on accounting expertise and in-depth knowledge of IFRS to join our dynamic and complex organization. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in group consolidation, managing general ledger activities, overseeing month-end closing processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Lead the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Ensure proper maintenance of general ledgers and reconciliation of key accounts.

Consolidation & Group Reporting

• Manage and perform multi-entity group consolidations, including intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translations.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of consolidated financials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with subsidiaries and business units to gather and validate financial data.
• Manage the group reporting and ensure proper and timely reporting to HQ.

Controls & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, and tax requirements related to financial reporting.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and financial policies across the group.
• Support audit processes (internal and external) and manage preparation of audit deliverables.

Process Improvement & Projects

• Identify areas for process improvement and automation across the finance function.
• Support implementation of ERP systems or upgrades as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to align finance operations with broader business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or senior accounting role.
• Proven hands-on experience in group consolidations for complex or multinational organizations.
• Strong and demonstrable knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Experience managing general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Proficient in ERP/accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics, PROPHIX).
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to multi-currency environments and intercompany accounting.
• Experience in audit preparation and liaising with external auditors.
• Prior work experience in fast-paced, complex organizations such as multinationals, holding companies, or conglomerates.
